Satisfying customers…
Setting the TDS companies apart from the competition is our emphasis
on making customers' experiences as satisfying as possible and fully
delivering on their expectations. We focus on customers' needs,
offering high-quality services at an excellent value today – and
anticipate the products and services they will want tomorrow. Satisfied
customers stay with the company longer and tell others about their
superior experiences.
…and growing profitably–the TDS philosophy
Central to our philosophy at TDS is the belief that increasing customers,
revenues and cash flow is the way to grow the company profitably
and build long-term value for our shareholders. This philosophy
is reflected in TDS's mission, which is to provide outstanding communications
services to our customers and meet the needs of our shareholders,
our people and our communities.
TDS had its beginnings
in the late 1960s when LeRoy T. Carlson, the company's founder, spearheaded
the acquisition of Central State Telephone Company, the first of
10 small, rural-Wisconsin telephone companies to
make up TDS. The company was founded in 1969,
and since then, aggressive marketing, strategic acquisition, economies
of scale, a visionary eye for technological improvement and unfailing
customer service have helped grow TDS into the powerful and profitable
family of companies TDS is today.
TDS is traded on the American Stock Exchange under
the ticker symbols "TDS." and "TDS.S."
